Mark has been interested in Asian philosophy and metaphysics, including using the I Ching (also known as Yijing or Book of Changes) for divination, since he was 16. This interest led Mark to get a B.A. and an M.A. in Asian Studies from the University of Arizona. While spending several years to build a career in information technology, he continued his interest in metaphysics and provided readings for family and friends. A few years ago, those he helped began prodding him to help more people with his talents, so Mark decided to "turn pro" and offer his skills to the world.

Intuitive Readings (Divination)

When he was 16, Mark began doing intuitive readings with the aid of the Book of Changes. Like the Tarot, it is a tool that helps him focus his readings to better help his clients. To further his skills, he began studying with Master Joseph Yu, founder of the Feng Shui Research Institute and author of the Complete Idiot's Guide to the I Ching. Mark studied secret Chinese methods with Master Yu not described in Western books. Recently, Master Yu designated Mark a FSRC Lecturer allowing teach the Plum Blossom Divination class as part of the FSRC curriculum.

Jikiden Reiki

Mark is currently an Okuden (level 2) practitioner in Jikiden Reiki and a Reiki Master/Teacher practitioner in western Usui Reiki. He traveled to Japan to study Jikiden Reiki and continues to study under Tadao Yamaguchi in Kyoto. He also studied western Usui Reiki under Dave Scarbrough attaining the master/teacher level in Columbus.

Traditional Feng Shui

Mark is a certified Feng Shui Practitioner through the Feng Shui Research Institute having passed Master Yu's rigorous standards in Xuan Kong (Flying Stars) Feng Shui. This is a traditional Feng Shui system that comes directly from Chinese masters. Differing greatly from "Black Sect" feng shui or Life Aspirations feng shui, classical Chinese Feng Shui is based on mathematics, physics, and logic. The goals of classical Feng Shui include improving the health and well-being of those in a building as well as increasing wealth.

Why The Healing Rabbit?

Mark uses The Healing Rabbit persona, because he was born in the Chinese year of the Rabbit and month of the Rabbit (Mao year and month). However, it goes beyond that. Mark has always had an affinity for the moon, especially a full moon. The darker part of the moon looks like a rabbit and myths about this developed in several cultures.
